Bindi

Bindi, one of ASDOGS specially bred dogs, goes to Multi
Learning Centre at Mareeba Primary for two days per week, where
she is a great favourite with staff and students and really enjoys
her position as “one of the kids”.
Children who are usually reluctant to speak or to read will happily
read to Bindi, who is an attentive and uncritical listener. Children
who have been withdrawn now happily join class activities, because
“Bindi likes them to”.
On the days that the dog attends school, everybody is on best behaviour
because “Bindi is sad if people are not well behaved”.
She will also alert the staff should one of the children become ill.
Time with Bindi is highly prized by the children and offered as a reward
for work well done and for good behaviour.
What a difference a dog makes!
