Calvin and Creame

Creame was very kindly donated as a small puppy to the Association by a generous
group of supporters . As he came from a line that had been very successful as Seizure
Alert Dogs, we had great hopes that he would do likewise. He has excelled in this field!!
When he was 4 months old, the dog was introduced to Calvin, who was suffering severe
Epileptic seizures and had become afraid to go out in public, because of his disability.
The first day of their acquaintance, Calvin suffered a seizure and, while Creame didn’t
know what to do, the dog stayed by Calvin’s side until he had recovered.
From then on, Creame started to let Calvin know when he was going to have a seizure
by licking his hand. Although it took a while for Calvin to recognise the fact, Creame
was giving him 20 to 30 minutes warning, which allowed Calvin to place himself in a
position of safety.
At time of printing, Calvin has been saved from injury by his best mate a total of
104 times!!
Calvin and Creame have become great ambassadors for both ASDOGS and the Epilepsy
Foundation, with public speaking and raising public awareness.
“Creame has changed my life. I now feel confident to go out in public instead of hiding
at home. I can at last get on with my life”.
