Michelle and Zac

Michelle met Zac early in 2005 and there was an instant bonding.
Michelle wrote “I love Zac very much and I’m sure with all my heart
that he loves me. He sleeps on the bed with me and I can’t begin
to tell you how much he means to me.”
Michelle suffers from thyroid cancer and myasthenia gravis, a
condition that weakens her muscles. Zac is her constant
companion, accompanying her to her casual job with the Cowboys,
where Zac wears a Cowboy scarf and collar. Known as the Talking
Hungarian Vizsla, Zac cheers on the team when requested.
Zac has recently stayed at the Mater Hospital in Townsville when
Michelle was having treatment for four days. He thoroughly
enjoyed the attention and kept wandering into the corridor when
meals were due to make sure that he had his treats.
When Michellle is not well, Zac will grab her hand and pull her into
the house. He also picks up the phone and does many other tasks
for her. Zac is an Accredited Assistance Dog and actively
promotes ASDOGS in Townsville.
